Ella Puga has been working in the public health sector since 2000. Ella began their career at the Texas Department of Health as an Epidemiologist and Statistician. In 2004, they moved to the Austin/Travis County Health & Human Services Department, where they held the roles of Epidemiologist and Epidemiologist Senior. In 2012, they joined the Texas Department of State Health Services as an Epidemiologist, Research Specialist and Research Specialist. From 2015 to 2017, they worked at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler & UT System as the Program Manager for the Texas Collaborative for Healthy Mothers and Babies (TCHMB). Most recently, they have been employed by Far Harbor, LLC as a Public Health Scientist and Public Health Research Specialist.
Ella Puga attended the University of Michigan College of Literature, Science, and the Arts from 1994 to 1998, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Ella then attended the University of Michigan from 1998 to 2000, where they earned a Master of Public Health degree in Hospital & Molecular Epidemiology.
