Rich Mayer has extensive experience in mental health and substance abuse counseling, currently serving as a Mental Health Therapist at Family Guidance Centers, Inc. since January 2022. Previous roles include Intensive Outpatient Counselor at WOODRIDGE INTERVENTIONS and Engagement Specialist at Gateway Foundation. Additionally, Rich served as a Substance Abuse Prevention Coordinator at Dynamic Systems Technology and as an Alcohol/Drug Counselor at Gateway Foundation, focusing on dual-diagnosis clients. Rich began a military career as a 68X Mental Health Specialist with the 467th CSC Med Det from May 2005 to May 2017. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Community Counseling from National Louis University, a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Rockford University, an Associate of Arts in Psychology from Rock Valley College, and a Master of Arts in Military Psychology from Adler University.
