William Bates is the current Chief Academic Officer at Falls Church City Public Schools. William was previously the Assistant Superintendent of School Support at Baltimore County Public Schools from July 2016 to July 2019. Prior to that, they were the High School Principal at Fairfax County Public Schools from December 2009 to July 2016.

William Bates is currently a Doctor of Education candidate at Virginia Tech, specializing in Educational Leadership and Administration.
