Joanne Woods is an experienced Special Education Teacher with a career spanning over 28 years in K-12 education. Currently serving at Falls Church City Public Schools since December 2012, Joanne specializes in learning and emotional disabilities, working with students with a range of needs including learning disabilities, emotional disabilities, physical disabilities, and autism spectrum disorders. Prior to this role, Joanne worked as a Resource Teacher for the Catholic Diocese of Arlington, focusing on at-risk students and providing professional development on differentiation and best practices. Joanne's initial experience includes serving as a Special Education Teacher for Fairfax County Public Schools. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Special Education and Teaching from Marymount University and a Bachelor of Science in Parks, Recreation, and Leisure Studies from Clemson University.
