Monika Firl is a seasoned professional in the coffee industry, currently serving as the Senior Advisor on Coffee at Fairtrade International since March 2022. Prior to this role, Monika held various positions at Cooperative Coffees and CoopSol du Cafe Equitable, including Project Manager and Director of Sustainability, from September 2002 to January 2022. Monika's expertise lies in mitigating climate change impacts on coffee farming and enhancing the livelihoods of small-scale organic coffee producers through improved access to technical and financial resources. Monika has a Master's degree in Communication, Journalism, and Related Programs from the University of Colorado Boulder and a Bachelor's degree in International Relations and Affairs from the same institution, complemented by a certificate in Germanistik from Heidelberg University.
