Ms. Meren is an education policy professional, parent, and community advocate who believes that strong schools make a strong community. Her professional career of decades is centered on promoting public education, and includes service in the U.S. Department of Education and in the U.S. Office of Management and Budget; advocacy with the Virginia Association of Environmental Education; service on FCPS Committees and school PTAs; and more.

Ms. Meren is a member of the Board’s Governance Committee, and serves as the School Board liaison to the Career and Technical Education Advisory Committee (CTEAC) of the Board, and to the Fairfax Community Criminal Justice Board.
