Ategeka Stewart has a diverse work experience, beginning in 2014 as an Enumerator for UBOS (Uganda Bureau of Statistics). In 2015, they were an Intern for Masindi District Farmers' Association (MADFA), followed by a role as Presiding Officer for the Uganda Electoral Commission in 2016. ATEGEKA then worked as a Greenhouse Grower for Ozer Efraim Vegetable Farm in the same year, followed by roles as a Greenhouse Grower for Bergen's Greenhouses, Inc. and Intergrow Greenhouses, Inc. in 2018. In 2021, they began a 3-month traineeship as an Apprentice at Käsehof-Rozenburg, participating in activities such as milking, feeding, herd health management, and general farm maintenance work. In 2019, they were a Product Owner/Agronomist for EzyAgric.
Ategeka Stewart is currently pursuing an MSc. in Rural Development Engineering at the University of Debrecen. Prior to this, they obtained a Bachelor of Agribusiness Management from Makerere University between 2013 and 2017. In 2016 and 2017, they also obtained a Diploma in Agrostudies from Kfar Silver Agricultural Capacity building center. Additionally, Ategeka has obtained several certifications from FAO, including Climate-smart soil and land management, Introduction to the Farmer Field School Approach, Introduction to Sustainable Development Goal indicators under FAO custodianship, Sustainable food systems: An introduction, and SDG Indicator 2.4.1 - Sustainable Agriculture.
