Gawie Pretorius is an experienced professional in the mining and metallurgical engineering sectors, currently serving as Plant Manager at Exxaro Belfast Coal since December 2006, focusing on Operational Readiness execution. Previous roles include Plant Manager at Exxaro NBC Coal, Plant Superintendent at Exxaro/Anglo American Mafube Colliery, and Production Manager at Exxaro Tshikondeni Coal. Gawie began a career at Kumba Resources Limited as Production Manager at Tshikondeni Mine and also held positions as Production & Maintenance Shift Supervisor at Leeuwpan Mine. Early in their career, Gawie worked at Iscor LTD as Production & Maintenance Shift Supervisor and Shift Millwright after completing millwright apprenticeship. Gawie holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand and received technical training at Iscor Training Centre Newcastle and Newtek Technical College.
