Wendell Baschnagel joined Explora BioLabs in February 2020 as the Senior Director of Facilities and Regulatory Compliance. Prior to joining Explora BioLabs, he was the Director of Facilities at Organovo, Inc., and the Associate Director at Thermo Fisher, where he managed West Coast construction and operational projects in San Diego and the Bay Area. Wendell managed the Facilities and Regulatory programs at the Austin Texas Life Technologies site for over 10 years before being recruited to the San Diego area.

Earlier in his career, Wendell developed and managed regulatory programs for private companies and managed Facilities and Vivarium operations. He also served as the Supervisor of Healthcare and Husbandry at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. During his tenure at the University of Texas, Health Science Center, Wendell was responsible for developing and operating The Center for Transgenic Mice.

Wendell holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from Texas A&M University, certificates as a Certified Facilities Manager from IFMA, a LEED AP, Operations & Maintenance from USGBC, and a Project Management Professional certificate from PMI.
