Petri Helsky is the CEO of Exel Composites. Petri has been with the company for four years and has been instrumental in improving profitability. Under their leadership, Exel Composites has become the market leader in brand share in Finland, Czechia, and Slovakia.
Helsky began their career with Metsä Tissue in April 2015. Petri was with the company for four years and served as CEO during that time. During their tenure, Metsä Tissue achieved its best ever result in 2017 and became the market leader in brand share in Finland, Czechia, and Slovakia.
Under Helsky's leadership, Metsä Tissue focused on improving profitability. Key to this success was setting clear financial targets, creating a "2023" plan with targets, actions, and milestones for all business units, and communicating the strategy and targets regularly to the entire organization. In addition, Metsä Tissue changed its organizational structure from a regional set-up to a customer segment-based approach and focused on training its sales management and sales force.
Helsky has been instrumental in developing Metsä Tissue's brands systematically based on consumer and customer insights. This has led to the company's Tento brand becoming the number one brand in Slovakia and Czechia. In addition, Metsä Tissue's Nordic consumer brands Serla and Lambi have strengthened the company's number one position in Scandinavia and overtaken the main competitor in Finland.
Petri Helsky has a M.Sc. in Economics from Ã…bo Akademi University and a M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from the same school. Petri currently works as a marketing consultant.
