Krystal Thomas-White has a wealth of work experience in the scientific field. Krystal began their career in 2005 as a Lab Assistant in the Quality Control Labs at Genentech. Krystal then worked as a Researcher at the Cal Poly Dairy Product Technology Center in 2007, where they isolated and identified a bacterial milk contaminant and completed an environmental sampling project. In the same year, they worked as a Lab Assistant in the Pre-Polyclonal Antibody Production Group at Santa Cruz Biotechnology. In 2008, they began working at UCSF as a Staff Research Associate II, processing client samples for next generation sequencing and performing library preps for the Affymetrix GeneChip Human SNP 6.0 Microarrays. In 2011, they completed their PhD in Microbiology and Immunology at Loyola University Chicago, with a research focus on the microbiome of benign urology. From 2014-2018, they worked as Cofounder and Chief Science Officer at Lively/Evy Health, where they coordinated all aspects of business development, including designing a website, user portal, and online marketing campaign. From 2018-2019, they worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Stanford University. Since 2019, Krystal has been working as Scientific Advisor at Live UTI Free, where they write and collaborates on the scientific merit of website content, reviews printable material and grant applications, composes articles for the website, and participates in virtual interview series and Ask Me Anything series on Instagram and Facebook. In 2022, they will begin working as Senior Scientist at Evvy.
Krystal Thomas-White received their Doctor of Philosophy in Microbiology and Immunology from Loyola University Chicago in 2017. Krystal had previously obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology, General from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo in 2008.
