Ruben Guerra has a diverse work experience in the field of FPGA design and hardware development. Ruben started their career as a FPGA Engineer through TOPIC Embedded Systems at Sphericam, where they designed IPs in VHDL for the Programmable Logic and the Processing System of the Xilinx Zynq-7000. Ruben then joined Philips as a FPGA Engineer through TOPIC Embedded Systems, working on improving portability of image processing software and exploring new tools and techniques for embedded systems. Later, they worked at Axon Digital Design BV (now EVS Broadcast Equipment) as a FPGA Engineer through TOPIC Embedded Systems, contributing to the development of the Neuron Platform, a modular system for audio and video signal processing. Ruben also gained experience as a Senior FPGA / Embedded Software Engineer at TOPIC Embedded Systems, and as a Senior FPGA Engineer through TOPIC Embedded Systems at TOMRA Sorting Food. Ruben further enhanced their skills as a Hardware Designer through TMC at Innoluce BV (an Infineon company), specializing in LiDAR applications for autonomous vehicles. Most recently, they held positions at TMC and EVS Broadcast Equipment as a Hardware Designer and FPGA Designer respectively, contributing to the development of cutting-edge broadcast equipment and working on projects related to video/audio over IP and control interfaces.
Ruben Guerra has a Master's Degree in Embedded Systems from Eindhoven University of Technology, which they obtained from 2013 to 2016. Prior to that, they received a Bachelor's degree in Electronic Cybernetics Engineering from CETYS Universidad between 2008 and 2013. In 2011, Ruben attended Johannes Kepler Universität Linz as an International Student, focusing on Information Technology for a brief period.
In terms of additional certifications, Ruben obtained the Management 3.0 Foundation Workshop certification from Management 3.0 in January 2023. In May 2017, they received the Lean basics certification from Philips. Ruben also holds the Certified LabVIEW Associate Developer certification from NI (National Instruments) since March 2012.
