Brooke Russell

Senior Conservator at EverGreene Architectural Arts

Brooke joined EverGreene in 2016 as an architectural conservator. She works closely with the conservation team and directs assistant conservators and conservation technicians in all aspects of conservation treatment, assessment, and documentation. Brooke’s expertise includes writing specifications, developing treatment plans, performing conservation investigations and studies, executing conservation treatments on painted finishes, and conducting microscopic analysis of paint and plaster. Brooke also works alongside our design team to translate complex paint studies into implemented projects.

Brooke is an active member in many industry organizations including the American Institute of Conservation (AIC) as a Professional Associate and as the Architectural Specialty Group Liaison for the Emerging Conservation Professional Network; participates with the Association of Preservation Technology (APT) for both the APTi Technical Committee for Materials and as a member of the local APT DC Chapter; and serves as both Conference Committee Chair and Post Prints Editor for the Architectural Finishes Research Conference (AFR). Brooke continues to share her professional knowledge with the next generation through her participation as speaker for high school and college students interested in the conservation and the trades industry, and through a variety of professional development networking events.

She holds her BA in Art History and Italian from New York University and went on to earn her MS in Historic Preservation from Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning & Preservation.
