Anna Miller has been working in the field of data science since 2013. Anna began their career as a Laboratory Assistant at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, then went on to become a Graduate Student Researcher and Lab Teaching Assistant Coordinator at the University of California San Diego. In 2020, they became a Data Science Fellow at Insight Data Science, and most recently, in 2021, they took on the role of Machine Learning Engineer at EvenUp. During their time as a Graduate Student Researcher, they built a numerical model of neurons in songbirds using time series electrophysiological data and nonlinear optimization, which identified variability of neuronal properties across populations. As a Lab Teaching Assistant Coordinator, they supervised and trained a team of 20 graduate teaching assistants for the instruction of lab classes, composed problem sets for the creation of undergraduate physics textbooks used by 1500 students every year, and authored mission critical course materials to enable video instruction and remote teaching during the coronavirus pandemic, utilized by 1400 students.
Anna Miller completed their Bachelor of Science in Engineering Physics from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign between 2011 and 2014. Anna then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy in Physics from UC San Diego, which they completed in 2020.
