Sean Hamlet has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Sean started their career as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the Applied Physics Institute, where they assisted with various electrical engineering projects. Sean then had multiple summer internships as an Electrical Engineer Student at Lexmark, where they conducted experiments, designed imaging sensors, and performed data analysis.
After completing their undergraduate degree, Sean joined the University of Kentucky as a Teaching Assistant for a course on the Design of Digital Logic Circuits. During this time, they instructed and supported over 100 students each semester. Sean also worked as a Research Assistant, developing software and a breathing-controlled video game for cardiac MRI patients.
Sean's career then took a shift towards software engineering. Sean joined Eventbrite as a Software Engineer I, gradually progressing to Software Engineer II and Senior Software Engineer roles. At Eventbrite, they worked with technologies such as Python, Kotlin, Gradle, gRPC, CircleCI, and various AWS services. Sean was involved in architecture design, documentation, and leading a project to migrate legacy monolithic backend services to new technologies.

Sean Hamlet attended the University of Kentucky from 2006 to 2017, where they earned both their Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Mathematics in 2010, and later their Master of Science in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Signal Processing in 2012. Sean then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Electrical Engineering at the same university, completing their studies in 2017. In addition to their educational background, Sean obtained an "Engineer In Training" certification in April 2010.
