Software Engineer II at Eventbrite

German Hidalgo started their work experience as an EDA Student at Eventbrite in March 2020. German received training on Python, Git, and Docker fundamentals, as well as an introduction to Eventbrite's architecture and work organization.

Following their training, German worked as a Software Engineer Jr., where they implemented contract testing using Python and integrated it with the Jenkins CI/CD system. German also planned and executed a migration from Jenkins to CircleCI, leveraging the cost savings and improved maintenance of the latter.

As a Software Engineer I, German completed a company-wide migration of CI/CD tooling from self-hosted Jenkins to managed CircleCI. German also improved the reliability and capacity of integration and end-to-end tests by utilizing Kubernetes for generating fresh environments per test execution. Additionally, they implemented a solution to generate QA environments with fresh data, enabling developers to test changes without impacting others.

Currently, German is working as a Software Engineer II at Eventbrite. German is responsible for implementing and maintaining a common set of blueprints and infrastructure libraries to support multiple AWS account setups. German also manages and administers GitHub, CircleCI, and the AWS orchestration account for the entire company.

Prior to joining Eventbrite, German worked as a Software Engineer at Quinto Impacto. German contributed to the development of Carbula's backend system, which involved retrieving car prices from various sites and generating reasonable offers for end-users.

Overall, German Hidalgo has demonstrated expertise in software engineering, CI/CD tooling, infrastructure management, and backend development throughout their work experience.

German Hidalgo began their education in 2004 at ICEI, where they completed their Educación Secundaria Obligatoria (ESO) degree in the field of Humanidades/Estudios humanísticos in 2010. German then enrolled at Universidad Nacional de Cuyo in 2010 and pursued a degree in Ingenieria Industrial until their graduation in 2014. In 2019, German briefly attended Egg educacion to complete a programming course.
