Alexey Kovalev has a diverse work experience in the field of embedded software engineering. Alexey is currently working as a Senior Embedded Software Engineer at EVBox since September 2022. Prior to this, Alexey worked at АТОЛ for a significant part of their career. Alexey served as a Hardware Architecture Team Lead from December 2021 to August 2022, where they managed complex tasks for other development teams and played a role in the system analysis and architecture development of the company's hardware and embedded software products. Before that, from November 2018 to December 2021, they held the position of Embedded Software Team Lead, where they managed a team of 5-12 hardware and software developers and contributed to firmware development and hardware/software architecture development. From March 2014 to November 2018, they worked as an Embedded Software Developer, developing software protection systems, firmware for microcontrollers, and software libraries for hardware integration. Earlier in their career, from November 2011 to March 2014, they served as a Research Team Lead, managing a team of developers and engineers and working on embedded Linux POS-computer concepts and Linux operating system implementation for WindowsCE devices. From May 2008 to November 2011, they were a System Software Team Lead, managing a team of software developers and working on COM-/OLE-/ActiveX-components, WindowsCE software, and software licensing and protection systems. Alexey started their career as a Software Developer at АТОЛ from March 2005 to May 2008. Alexey also gained experience as a Software Developer at Diebold Nixdorf from December 2016 to March 2017 and at the Institute of Control Sciences from 2002 to 2003, where they redesigned a cluster-analysis tool and achieved significant performance gains.
Alexey Kovalev completed their education at the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI (Moscow Engineering Physics Institute) from 2000 to 2006, earning a Master's degree in Computer Technology/Computer Systems Technology. Additionally, they have obtained certifications in "Разработка веб-сервисов на Go - основы языка" from Coursera in April 2022 and as an ICAgile Certified Professional from ScrumTrek in February 2022.
