Lena Thiede is a seasoned professional and co-founder of Planet A Ventures, where responsibilities include supporting early-stage European green tech startups through funding, mentoring, and impact forecasting. Thiede also serves as a senior policy advisor at Ecologic Institute, is a member of multiple networks including European Women in VC, Global Women in VC, and the Rising Tide Collective, and contributes to the advisory board of the EXIST Program under the Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Klimaschutz. Previously, Thiede held the position of Deputy Head of Division for Sustainable Finance at the Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung (BMZ) and directed Germany's Development Cooperation efforts in South Africa at the German Embassy. Academic qualifications include a Diplom in Political Science from Freie Universität Berlin and participation in the Mercator Fellowship on International Affairs.
