Joni Tikkala is an experienced education leader and crisis management professional. Currently serving as the Head of Education at the City of Valkeakoski (on leave of absence) and as a Civilian Crisis Management member with the European Union Monitoring Mission in Georgia since May 2023, Tikkala has a diverse background in education and international operations. Previous roles include Deputy Principal at Seminaari School, Substitute Head of Education in Hämeenlinna, and various positions with the United Nations, such as Staff Officer and Military Observer. Tikkala's educational qualifications include a Master of Education from the University of Lapland and a Bachelor’s degree in management from TAKK/PIRKO, among other credentials.
