Damien Desfontaines is a Staff Scientist at Tumult Labs since September 2021, focusing on differential privacy and safe data sharing. Additionally, Damien serves as an Expert for the EDPB Support Pool of Experts, concentrating on privacy-enhancing technologies and data protection law. Previously, Damien held the position of Senior Software Engineer, Privacy at Google from October 2014 to August 2021, where leadership in anonymization practices and the adoption of differential privacy technologies was paramount. An academic background includes a Doctorate in Computer Science with a focus on privacy from ETH Zürich and a civil servant education at École Normale Supérieure. Earlier research and teaching roles were fulfilled at institutions like Laboratoire J.-V. Poncelet, The University of Auckland, and Lycée Louis-le-Grand.
