Olivier Briet

Expert Medical Entomology at ECDC

Olivier Briet is an expert in medical entomology with extensive experience in malaria epidemiology and vector control. Currently serving at the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) since May 2018, Olivier previously held the position of Senior Malariologist at Swiss TPH from September 2010 to April 2018, where responsibilities included contributing to malaria modeling projects and technical publications. Earlier roles include Integrated Expert in Epidemiology/Entomology at TRAC Plus, Associate Expert/Regional Researcher at IWMI, and various consulting positions, including with the World Health Organization. Olivier holds a PhD in Epidemiology from the University of Basel and multiple advanced degrees in relevant fields. Key achievements encompass numerous journal publications and significant contributions to international conferences on vector-borne diseases.
