Director, Climate Strategy And Delivery, Green Financial Systems At EBRD at EBRD

Maya Hennerkes has extensive work experience in the field of environmental and social sustainability, particularly in the financial sector. Maya is currently serving as the Director of Climate Strategy and Delivery, Green Financial Systems at EBRD, where they are responsible for developing and implementing climate strategies. Prior to this role, Maya held positions as the Associate Director and Principal Environmental Adviser at EBRD.

In addition, Maya has worked with SustainableFinance.Live as an Advisory Board Member, contributing their expertise to sustainable finance initiatives. Maya Hennerkes has a Master's degree in Economics, Political Science, and Latin American Area Studies from the University of Cologne, which they obtained between 1998-2005. Maya also pursued Interpretation and Translation studies for a Master's degree at the Universidad de Sevilla from 2003-2004. In addition, Maya Hennerkes completed an Executive Master's program in Public Management at the Hertie School from 2011-2014. Maya participated in the Santander W50 Program at the UCLA Anderson School of Management in 2015 to prepare women for future positions on corporate boards. In 2020, they attended the Wharton School for the Wharton/OECD Emerging Leaders Program.
