Masha Smirnova serves as the Head of Sustainable Urban Governance at Eurocities since April 2019, leading teams on sustainable urban development and EU policy making, with a focus on green transitions and citizen engagement projects. Previously, Masha held roles as Campaign Manager for the European Green Deal, where collaboration with Mayors was emphasized, and as a Policy Advisor addressing social policy issues such as education and health preparedness. Earlier experience includes roles at the Social Platform, where Masha coordinated efforts on the European Pillar of Social Rights, and at the European Public Health Alliance, focusing on public health advocacy. Masha's consultancy background includes work on stakeholder engagement and development strategies in Tunisia, as well as research management in ICT and health policy. Academic achievements include a Master's degree in International Politics from The University of Manchester and a Magistra in Management with a focus on Healthcare from IMC Krems University.
