Marco Pierro is a researcher at Eurac Research since June 2020 and has been a researcher at the ESTER Laboratory since May 2012, focusing on solar energy, PV power forecast techniques, data analysis for outdoor characterization of PV devices, and PV performance modeling. Prior to these roles, Marco was a freelance founder member of StudioVis, providing consulting services in PV solar plant planning, installation, performance, and maintenance from November 2009 to May 2012. Marco's earlier experience includes serving as the responsible planner for the solar plant area at the Rome Energy Agency from September 2000 to November 2009, where responsibilities included solar plant design, performance monitoring, and teaching solar energy in professional training courses. Educational credentials include a PhD in Manufacturing and Operations Engineering with a focus on PV power forecasting from the University of Rome Tor Vergata, a Master’s Degree in Photovoltaic Engineering, and a Laurea in Physics from the University of Rome "La Sapienza."
