Originally from Maryland, Dr. Holl graduated from Otterbein College in central Ohio with a B.Sc. in Equine Science and Molecular Biology, followed by a Ph.D. from Cornell University in Animal Science. Her dissertation work focused on the use of newer genomic technologies to study the equine genome, involving traits such as chromosomal abnormalities, laminitis, and white spotting patterns. She is especially interested in the genetics of the development of coat color. As a key advisor to Etalon, Heather's love of horses and genetics are the perfect fit and the company enjoys her immensely. She is currently at the University of Florida, continuing to work with Dr. Brooks as a postdoctoral researcher.
