JJ Cahill has extensive work experience in financial planning and analysis, commercial finance, business partnering, and leadership roles.
In their most recent position at ESW, they served as the VP of Financial Planning & Analysis, starting in October 2022. Previously, they held the role of Director of Financial Planning & Analysis, starting in August 2021.
Prior to that, at Datalex, they worked as the VP of Commercial Finance & Business Partnering from August 2019 to August 2021. They also held the position of Head of Commercial Finance for a brief period in June and July 2019, where they had responsibilities such as leading a team of finance business partners, producing financial forecasts for strategic decision-making, and optimizing the commercial model.
Before joining Datalex, JJ was the Chief Financial Officer at WaterWipes (Irish Breeze) from May 2018 to June 2019.
At CRH, JJ held various roles from 2014 to 2018, including Financial Performance Director for CRH Asia Pacific where they focused on improving business performance, implementing strategic initiatives, and managing financial processes.
Prior to CRH, JJ worked at Bimeda Ireland as a Business Development Manager from 2011 to 2014, where they were involved in producing business plans and financial analysis for markets worldwide, as well as leading projects and managing acquisitions.
JJ began their career at Davy Corporate Finance in 2007, where they gained experience in mergers and acquisitions, fundraisers, and strategic analysis for various companies.
They started their professional journey at KPMG as a Qualified Accountant, working there from 2003 to 2007.
JJ Cahill completed their Leaving Certificate at Presentation Brothers College, Cork in 1999. They then went on to attend University College Cork from 1999 to 2003, where they earned a Bachelor of Commerce (BComm) degree with a focus on Economics. Later, from 2003 to 2006, JJ enrolled in Chartered Accountants Ireland and obtained an ACA certification.
