Carlos Melendez Gimeno is a highly experienced structural engineer with a strong background in analyzing and designing non-conventional structures. Currently serving as a Senior Structural Engineer at ESTEYCO since April 2018, Carlos has contributed to significant projects, including ITER and IFMIF-DONES, while also engaging in smaller specialized projects. Prior experience includes working as a structural engineer at CYPE Ingenieros, where Carlos assessed software functionalities, and as a structural engineering researcher at Universidad Politécnica de Valencia, where Carlos developed the FESCA 3D tool for reinforced concrete analysis. Carlos holds a PhD in finite element analysis of concrete structures and has completed various degrees from prestigious institutions, including a Master of Science in Concrete Engineering and a Doctor of Philosophy from Universitat Politècnica de València. Additionally, Carlos has gained international exposure through study at institutions such as The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
