David Swain currently serves as General Counsel and Vice President at Essex Bio-Technology since November 2022. In addition, David has been active in the Licensing Executives Society International (LESI) since December 2016, holding various leadership roles including Council Member of LES China (Hong Kong sub-chapter), Co-Chair of Membership Committee, Chair of Young Members Congress during the 2021-2022 term, and Co-Chair of multiple committees associated with the Asia-Pacific region. Prior to these roles, David was Head of Intellectual Property for Asia-Pacific and a Partner at Lewis Silkin from January 2021 to November 2022, and held positions at Deacons and Simmons & Simmons, starting as a Trainee Solicitor. David’s educational background includes a Postgraduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Law and Practice from the University of Oxford, as well as various law degrees from The University of Law, and a BSc in Biochemistry from Imperial College London.
