Ian Boston CMIIA, MAAT, currently serves as the Internal Audit Manager at Erewash Borough Council since September 2023. Previously, Ian held the role of Head of Risk and Regulatory Compliance at Central England Co-operative and Central England Co-operative Funeral Plans from July 2022 to September 2023. Ian’s experience includes strategic internal audit planning and compliance management at Central England Co-operative from August 2016 to September 2023, and the position of Head of Internal Audit at Leek United Building Society from July 2005 to July 2016, where compliance with financial service regulations was a key responsibility. Ian also progressed from Internal Audit Manager at Bentley Jennison from March 1999 to June 2005, overseeing outsourced audit plans, and began the auditing career as an Accountant at Dean Statham from July 1988 to March 1999. Ian is a Certified GDPR Practitioner and a Chartered Member of the Institute of Internal Auditors.
