Valeria Marrocco is a Senior Scientist at Equillium, Inc. since February 2021, focusing on the investigation of mechanisms involved in the pathogenesis of autoimmune diseases, mechanism of action studies, and immune cell activation and migration pathways. Prior to this role, Valeria served as a Postdoctoral Scientist at the California Institute for Biomedical Research (Calibr) from January 2019 to January 2021, where responsibilities included assay development for drug discovery and biomarker discovery. Earlier experience includes a Postdoctoral Scientist position at the University of California, San Diego, emphasizing in vivo models and protein expression, and a role as a PhD Candidate at Sapienza University, which culminated in a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Biotechnology. Valeria holds a Master's degree in Medical and Molecular Biotechnologies and a Bachelor's degree in Biotechnologies, both from Sapienza Università di Roma, along with a certification in integrated management systems.
