Sumita Rajpurohit has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and French from Johns Hopkins University, where she helped formerly incarcerated adults prepare for undergraduate studies, taught after-school science lessons for Baltimore Public School students and founded the Women of Mechanical Engineering Network. Before joining EJI in 2019, she managed a design project for the Space Telescope Science Institute, designed a new model for studying traumatic brain injury, and co-authored two published research articles.
