Kevin Gao is a software engineer who currently works at Epitel. Kevin has four months of experience at their current position and two months of experience at their previous company, Open Source. Some of their recent projects include Atelier API, a database designed for scalability and fault tolerance using a microservice architecture, and Catwalk, a product overview widget for an e-commerce web application. Kevin has increased page load performance by 300% using Lighthouse, Webpack, and preloading images above the fold. Kevin has also created a set of carousels for the main image gallery with thumbnail views along with modal functionality for full-size viewing.
Kevin Gao has completed a software engineering immersive at Hack Reactor and has a certificate of completion from the program. Kevin also has a food protection manager certification from ServSafe. Kevin is currently enrolled at Southern New Hampshire University and has previously attended Truckee Meadows Community College. Kevin has also completed courses on Codecademy for WebSockets, creating REST APIs with Spring and Java, React Native, React Testing, Java, TypeScript, and jQuery.
