Dr. Anschel completed a B.S. in Biological Sciences summa cum laude, from the State University of New York in Buffalo. He then went on to earn a M.D. with honors in Physiology and Neuroscience, from the New York University program at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Boston Childrenās Hospital; followed by a 2-year fellowship in Epilepsy and Clinical Neurophysiology at Stanford University in Pala Alto, CA. After fellowship at Stanford University, Dr. Anschel was co-director of the epilepsy program at the State University of New York at Stony Brook, where he also served as Assistant Professor of Neurology and Associate Scientist at Brookhaven National Laboratory. Currently he is the founding Director of the Comprehensive Epilepsy Center of Long Island and the Director of Clinical Neurophysiology at St. Charles Hospital in Port Jefferson, NY. This is the only NAEC Level 4 certified center in Suffolk County. Dr. Anschel has over 70 scientific and technical publications; and holds board certifications in Neurology, Clinical Neurophysiology, and Epilepsy.
