Layli Springer Alston has had a diverse work experience. Layli started their career at Gannett | USA TODAY NETWORK in 2001 as a Senior Account Executive and worked there until 2004. Layli then joined Heartland Inn, where they initially served as the Director of Sales from 2004 to 2006, and later became the General Manager from 2006 to 2007. In 2007, they joined Environmental Designs Inc. as the Director of Business Development, responsible for residential, commercial, and governmental landscape design and maintenance. Over the years, they took on various roles within the company, including Human Resource Director and ultimately Vice President of the Commercial Maintenance Division, a position they currently hold.

Layli Springer Alston earned a Bachelor's degree in Community Health from Iowa State University, completing their education from 1993 to 1998.
