Susan McCarthy Herz is a seasoned environmental professional with extensive experience in offshore wind and environmental planning. Currently serving as Senior Technical Specialist, Offshore Wind at Environmental Design & Research since September 2019, Susan previously held the position of Senior Environmental Scientist at Jacobs from July 2015 to August 2019, where responsibilities included overseeing technical tasks related to energy infrastructure. Prior to that, Susan worked as Senior Project Scientist at ESS Group, Inc., managing environmental impact assessments for various sectors, and as Project Manager at ENSR, focusing on ecological risk assessments. Early career roles included Technical Researcher at North Carolina Coastal Federation and Fisheries Technician at National Marine Fisheries Service. Susan's educational background includes a Master’s degree in Environmental Management from Duke University and a Bachelor’s in Biology from St. Lawrence University.
