Kara Reffitt is an experienced educator specializing in environmental science and general biology. Currently serving as a 10th Grade Environmental Science Teacher at the Environmental Charter School since August 2021, Kara previously taught science at Beaver Area Senior High School and Kettle Run High School from August 2019 to August 2021 and August 2016 to June 2019, respectively. A secondary science internship at Pittsburgh Brashear High School took place from August 2015 to June 2016, which involved comprehensive teaching responsibilities. Before pursuing a career in education, Kara worked as a nanny for College Nannies and Tutors from May 2012 to August 2015. Educational qualifications include a Master of Arts in Teaching-Secondary Biology from the University of Pittsburgh and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Allegheny College.
