Maria J Shi is a seasoned legal professional currently serving as Senior Legal Counsel at Envato since September 2023. Prior to this role, Maria held the position of Senior Legal Counsel (Flex) at MinterEllison from March 2023 to September 2023. From July 2016 to December 2022, Maria worked at dentsu, progressing through roles as Group Senior Legal Counsel and Group Legal Counsel focused on Technology & Intellectual Property, as well as Legal Counsel for Australia & New Zealand. Earlier in their career, Maria practiced as a Solicitor at Lamplugh McIntosh Lawyers from July 2011 to June 2016. Academically, Maria earned a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts (Media and Communications) (Honours) from the University of Melbourne, along with a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from the Leo Cussen Centre for Law, and participated in a winter exchange program focusing on Chinese Law at the East China University of Political Science and Law. Maria completed secondary education at Presbyterian Ladies' College.
