Anthony Burgon is the current Chief Technical Officer at Envato. Prior to their current position, they worked as a Program Manager at Esri from June 2003 to March 2009. In this role, they were responsible for the full life cycle of product development, evangelism, and release of new products and technology. Anthony directly managed 25 people and led a large software product development group through all aspects of the product lifecycle with remote development teams in the USA, Paris, and Cardiff. This was a multi-disciplinary role that ranged from R&D to project organisation and software product release.
Burgon also worked on R&D activities for new Desktop, Server, and Browser applications, a new display pipeline (2D/3D), and many improvements that were part of the ArcGIS 9.1, 9.2, 9.3, 10, and 10.1 releases. Anthony left Esri in 2009 to take on the role of GIS Consultant at Network Rail where they worked until April 2003. Anthony then took on the role of GIS Projects Manager at TransAct Communications from August 2000 to July 2001 before returning to Esri Australia as their GIS Architect in August 2009. Anthony left this position in March 2011 to take on their current role as Product Specialist at Envato.
Anthony Burgon has a Master's Degree in Modelling, Analysis, Planning, and Telecommunications from RMIT University. Anthony also has a Bachelor's Degree in GIS, Land Information, Geomatics, and Land Surveying from RMIT University. In addition, they have a certification from the Scrum Alliance in Certified Scrum Product Owner.
Anthony Burgon reports to Collis Ta'eed, CEO. They are on a team with David Brice - General Manager - Customer Group, Cameron Gough - General Manager - Content Group, and Justin Avery - CFO.
