Dave Shanahan is founder and CEO of Adagio Ventures Commercialisation Partners supporting life sciences companies exploit and commercialise products across medical technologies, pharmaceuticals and healthcare services. Dave has held senior executive positions in multinational Pharmaceuticals, healthcare and IDA Ireland over a 27 year career. He has worked in pharmaceutical sales and commercial operations in J&J, Zeneca, Pfizer, Abbott and AbbVie. He was Managing Director Pfizer Healthcare Ireland, (2000-2007), Director Pfizer UK,(2002-2007) before becoming founding CEO of Charter Medical Group 2007-2009. Dave subsequently joined IDA Ireland as Global Head of Life Sciences leading the global team for three years winning international foreign direct investment for Ireland in Life Sciences.
Dave graduated from University College Cork with a Bachelor of Science degree and from Trinity College Dublin with a Diploma in Business Management. He has also completed senior executive development programmes at Insead Europe and Harvard Business School. As one of six industry partners supporting the Action Plan for Jobs 2015, he chairs the government project team tasked with delivering a National Healthcare Innovation Hub to better exploit the synergies of Ireland’s unique
LifeSciences and healthcare infrastructure.
