Doug Nelson CIH, CHMM has over 30 years of work experience in health and safety. Doug served as the Director of Health and Safety at ENTACT since 2014. Prior to that, they were the Safety & Regulatory Affairs Director at WRS Infrastructure & Environment from 1989 to 2014, where they led the organization to industry leading safety standards and developed a comprehensive Safety Management System. Before that, they worked as an Industrial Hygienist at Consultants & Designers (AT&T Network Systems) from 1987 to 1989, performing exposure assessments and training for chemical and physical agents. Doug also worked as a Laboratory Safety Officer at the University of Georgia in 1986, where they conducted safety training and assessments for chemical and physical agents.
Doug Nelson CIH, CHMM obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Health from The University of Georgia in the years 1982 to 1986. Doug also completed Master of Public Health (MPH) coursework at Emory University. Before attending college, they graduated from Forest Park High School. Additionally, Nelson holds certifications as a Certified Industrial Hygienist from the American Board of Industrial Hygiene, obtained in 1995, and as a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager - Master from the Institute of Hazardous Materials Management, obtained in 1997.
