David Andersen has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies throughout their career. David is currently the CTO and co-founder of BrdgAI, a position they have held since September 2019. Prior to this, they were a Professor at Carnegie Mellon University since January 2005, specializing in distributed systems, networks, storage, systems for machine learning, databases, and security-related areas. David also served as the former director of the Intel science and technology center for visual cloud systems at Carnegie Mellon. From August 2015 to 2019, they worked as a Visiting Scientist at Google, focusing on deep learning and security aspects of TensorFlow and custom machine learning accelerators. In 2014, they co-founded Marianas Labs Inc., an early deep learning startup, and the company was acquired by 1-Page in 2015. Prior to that, they were the Chief Technology Officer at Arosnet Internet Svc from 1995 to 1998.
David Andersen received their B.S. degree in Computer Science and Biology from the University of Utah, where they studied from 1992 to 1998. Subsequently, they pursued a Ph.D. in Computer Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, graduating in 2004.
