Callum Rose started their work experience in 2008 as a Trainee Production Technician at OPITO, where they completed college training and gained experience on the BP Magnus platform. Callum then joined BP in 2012 as a Production Technician, responsible for operating and monitoring production equipment. In 2017, Callum became a Control Room Technician at BP, gaining experience in the use of DCS systems and the operation of ESD systems and control logic. Later that year, they transferred to EnQuest upon their acquisition of the Magnus Platform and became a Control Room Operator while maintaining their competency as an Operations Technician. Callum has also taken on the role of Lead Operations Technician Stand-in and is currently working as a Lead Operations Technician at EnQuest, where they assist in the development and training of other members of the Operations team.
Callum Rose's education history includes a BSc (Hons) degree in Combined STEM from The Open University (2020-2026), an SVQ level 3 in Process Operations: Hydrocarbons from OPITO (2010-2012), a City & Guilds Level 3 in Petroleum Processing Technology from OPITO - Petroleum Open Learning (2010-2012), an HNC in Measurement and Control from North East Scotland College (2008-2010), and an NC in Multi-Discipline Engineering from North East Scotland College (2008-2009). In addition, Callum has obtained several certifications such as Section 1 Firearm & Section 2 Shotgun Certificates from Police Scotland (March 2021), a GMDSS & VHF short-range radio licence from the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) (2019), and various certifications from OPITO including CRO: Controlling Emergencies (2018), Further Offshore Emergency Training (FOET), Minimum Industry Safety Training (MIST), OGUK Offshore Medical, and Offshore Emergency Response Team Leader.
