Renate Verheijen, LLM, MA, currently serves as the European Union Legal Officer for Cybersecurity at the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA) since March 2020, providing legal advice on cybersecurity certification and collaborating with Member States and the European Commission. Prior experience includes roles as Data Privacy Manager at Fox-IT and NCC Group Europe, where data protection and privacy were paramount, as well as serving as Legal and HR Counsel at Secura, overseeing various legal matters, privacy protection, and compliance. Renate has also contributed to legislative development at Tilburg University, focusing on corporate law. Educational qualifications include degrees in International Law, Law, Business Administration for HR, and advanced certifications in data protection and cybersecurity governance.
