Laura E. Polk is an experienced English language educator and research specialist with extensive expertise in cultural engagement and advocacy in education. Currently serving as an English Language Fellow at the University of Bahrain since August 2024, Laura previously implemented a virtual English instruction program in collaboration with a U.S. embassy and a local NGO in Lima, Peru. Previous roles include Research Specialist at On-Ramps where Laura supported candidate placement in social sector organizations and developed inclusive sourcing strategies. Laura has held various teaching positions, including adjunct faculty roles at Virginia Commonwealth University and Bellarmine University, as well as ESOL Instructor positions in multiple educational institutions. Laura holds a Master's degree in Applied Anthropology from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Eastern Mennonite University.
