Babalwa Fede began their work experience in 2008 at EngenderHealth South Africa, where they worked as an M&E researcher. In 2009, they joined Ubuntu Education Fund as an HIV/Aids researcher until 2011. In 2012, they became a PhD candidate at Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, and during the same year, they also worked as a Technical Monitoring and Evaluation personnel at Futures Group International until 2014.
Babalwa Fede completed their PHD in HIV/AIDS Studies at Nelson Mandela University from 2005 to 2011. In 2019, they enrolled at the GIBS Business School (Gordon Institute of Business Science) for a degree in Project Management.
