Kalp Shah is a software developer at Energy Toolbase. Kalp previously worked as a test & automation developer at Celestica from May 2018 to September 2019. While at Celestica, Kalp aided with the development of test solutions for a large telecommunication company in the United States. Kalp also helped develop automated solutions to improve Celestica’s internal processes, all within a team of 12 senior engineers.
Some of Kalp’s notable achievements while at Celestica include optimizing runtime and improving capabilities of IPQC unit tester by improving test scripts and upgrading technology stack to Selenium WebDriver. Kalp also shifted automated web testing from HTTP request + HTML query-based solution to Python Selenium WebDriver and improved overall test runtime by 13%. In addition, Kalp refactored test scripts written in Celestica Proprietary Scripting language to drastically improve test runtime for unit fail cases by 20%.
Kalp also spearheaded software development for an internal automated solution using Python utilizing ROS framework and C++ utilizing QT5 framework. Kalp developed robust backend communication using Python utilizing ROS (Robot Operating System) libraries in a publisher/subscriber framework and designed and developed front-end UI using C++ utilizing QT5 libraries. This solution led to an estimated $20 000/Yr. in savings.
