Sean Steffensen, P.E., is an experienced engineering professional with a focus on energy conservation and mechanical engineering. Currently serving as an Engineering Fellow and Senior Staff Engineer at Energy Solutions since April 2022, Sean provides technical advocacy for appliance and building standards aimed at reducing energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. Prior experience includes a mechanical engineer position at the California Energy Commission, where coordination of pre-rulemaking activities for landscape irrigation controllers took place. At Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company, Sean held various roles including Lead Wire Harness Engineer and Lead Mechanisms Test Engineer, overseeing teams and integrating complex engineering processes. Sean's academic background includes a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Davis. Additionally, teaching experience as a teaching assistant involved instructing courses on CAD software and product development.
