James Finchum has extensive work experience in the engineering and maintenance field. James currently serves as a Territory Sales Manager at Energy Rental Solutions Cat. Prior to this, they worked at Ashland Specialty Ingredients, where they held the role of I & E Maint. Reliability Specialist from November 2016 to July 2022. In this role, they were responsible for SIS PM's, upgrading instrumented systems, and engineering process analyzers. James also worked at Ashland Inc as an I & E Maint. Supervisor from December 2014 to July 2022, overseeing scheduling, TAR planning, and instrument/electrical reliability.

Before joining Ashland, James worked at Praxair, where they held multiple roles. From October 2011 to November 2014, they served as a Reliability Engineering Instrumentation and Controls Reliability Specialist, implementing Emerson AMS and troubleshooting downtime issues. James also worked as a Senior Control Systems Engineer from March 2008 to October 2011, providing DCS support and managing data systems for reformers. Additionally, James worked in HYCO Operations from March 2005 to March 2008 and held various roles at Praxair earlier in their career, including Engineering Associate and Production Supervisor in Advanced Semiconductor Components.

James Finchum attended J Frank Dobie High School from 1988 to 1991. After high school, they enrolled at San Jacinto College, but the duration and specific field of study are unknown.
