Mr. Edward Joseph Wehmer, Ed has been the President and Chief Executive Officer of Wintrust Financial Corporation at Wheaton Bank & Trust Company since May 1998. Mr. Wehmer serves as an Advisor of Lake Forest Bank & Trust Company. He served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Wintrust Financial Corp. since its formation in 1996. Mr. Wehmer is responsible for overseeing the execution of Wintrust Financial Corp.’s day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives. Prior to joining Wintrust Financial Corp., he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Corus Bankshares, Inc. (formerly, River Forest Bancorp, Inc.) from 1985 to 1991 and President of its largest bank subsidiary, Lincoln National Bank in Chicago, Illinois. He served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Corus Financial Corporation. Mr. Wehmer served as the President of Lake Forest Bank from 1991 to 1998.

Mr. Wehmer was one of the principal organizers of each of the banking subsidiaries and serves as Chairman or Vice Chairman and a Director of each of the subsidiary: Wayne Hummer Trust Company (WHTC), Wayne Hummer Investments L.L.C. (WHI), Wayne Hummer Asset Management Company (WHAMC), Focused, FIFC, Tricom, and WITS. Mr. Wehmer has been a Director of Wintrust Financial Corporation since 1996. He serves as a Director of Lake Forest Bank & Trust Company; Hinsdale Bank & Trust Company; Town Bank, Great Lakes Advisors, LLC and Barrington Bank & Trust Company, N.A. He serves as Advisory Director of Northbrook Bank & Trust Company. Mr. Wehmer has been a Director for Stepan Company since August 13, 2003. He served as a Director of River Forest Bancorp, Inc. from 1985 to 1991. He served as Member of Corporate Board at Boys And Girls Clubs Of Chicago. He is involved in several charitable and fraternal organizations. Mr. Wehmer is also a Certified Public Accountant and earlier in his career spent seven years with the accounting firm of Ernst & Young LLP specializing in the banking field and particularly in the area of bank mergers and acquisitions.
