Pinar Iyidogan

Pinar Iyidogan, Ph.D. has over 20 years of experience in the field of protein development and enzymology. Pinar is currently the Head of Enzyme Engineering at Encodia, Inc. Prior to that, they worked as the Director of Protein Development at Pacific Biosciences and Omniome Inc. Their roles at Omniome included Director of Protein Development, Senior Manager of Enzymology, and Senior Scientist of Enzymology. Pinar was responsible for protein discovery, large-scale production, process development, and cross-functional collaborations. Pinar also led the improvement of biochemistry for next-generation sequencing technology, increasing experimental throughput and sequencing quality. Before Omniome, Pinar worked as a Research Scientist and Project Leader at Yale School of Medicine, where they conducted high-throughput screening of anti-cancer drugs and carried out mechanism of action studies. Pinar also worked as a Postdoctoral Associate at Yale, focusing on the design and analysis of HIV-1 reverse transcriptase inhibitors. Pinar's academic background includes being a Graduate Student at Emory University, where they generated mutants with improved enzyme properties using directed evolution methods. Pinar also worked as a Research Fellow at Pharmasset, specializing in the synthesis and purification of nucleotide analog drugs.

Pinar Iyidogan, Ph.D. obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Chemistry, specifically in the Biological Chemistry Division, from Emory University in the years 2003 to 2008.
